First baby solid food to use ?

Anybody know what first solid baby food I should start my baby boy on ? Veggies or fruits ? And what kind of veggie or fruit ?

Apple sauce or sweet potatoes. Oatmeal is a staple too.

I was always told to start on veggies than fruits because than they will only want the sweet stuff

Puree vegetables to prevent them getting a taste for only sweet things. Pumpkin, potato etc

I think I started both my boys off on Apple sauce

Everyone is saying greens and veggies but remember they have a delicate digestive system so sometimes simple carbs are better, think brat diet. Mashed banana,rice cereal,apple sauce..then introduce orange veggies,green veggies,puréed oatmeal. This was basically the diet I raised my baby brothers on and they all have great eating habits and aren't picky at all. Try to make as much of it as possible yourself. It's not hard at all.

Start with the green/gross first and gradually work up to the sweeter.  If you go straight to bananas or sweet potatoes initially it might be harder to to get them to eat green beans or peas because they will be used to the more delicious flavors.
