Scheduled Induction

I'm curious about getting thoughts from others who have had a scheduled induction in the past. The doctors are thinking my son is a bit big and want to induce early (pending some ultrasounds to confirm). I've been thinking that instead of sharing the induction date with friends and family that we will keep it private. I've heard from a couple friends that when everyone knows you're in labor they're blowing up your phone and posting your progress on facebook for all to see. I don't think I want my cervix dilation as a status update 😂. What are some thoughts on this?  What worked and what didn't?
