visitors after giving birth??

So I am TTC but have talked about certain aspects of babies and welcoming babies in the world with family. I personally only want siblings and grandparents to be there. (Including their spouses). His side of family is huge and loves to go everywhere together... I don't want to see 8 million people after giving birth. I would like a little time to rest and get used to being a family. What are yalls opinions on visitors on day of birth?

I agree, I wanted his family to just go home. It was definitely Irritating having them there. If I ever have another child I want to just be with my SO and baby alone afterwards

I'm not telling who can and can't come to the hospital. It will be a lot of people but I don't mind.

I would prefer not to have a million visitors (my DH has a huuuuge family) but I don't think I'll have a choice as our baby will be the first grandchild for both mine and his parents. There'll be too much excitement for me to try and stop them.

BUT I will have my bestie running interference if it gets too much. She doesn't care if they don't like her 😂

(When I say his family is big, the split between my family and his at our wedding was 46 my side/84 his side and that's all immediate family like siblings, aunts, uncles, first cousins)
