When to reserve a newborn photo shoot?

We want to have newborn photos taken but aren't sure about how far in advance to book it. I'm almost 11 weeks but don't want to get ahead of myself. When did you book your newborn photo shoot?

I got over excited and contacted our photographer after my 12 week scan!! I like having things planned & prepared

I'm doing something called a Fresh 48 so I just message the photographer after I deliver and she will come to the hospital and take pictures there! So I already booked it. I'd say just ask a photographers preference
