Ear Pinning vs Ear Buddies

Have any of you had your babies ears pinned or tried Ear Buddies? Years ago I had heard ear pinning was covered by the Canadian government the same as tongue tie for anyone under 18. I can't find any information about it tho.

I love my lil man with all my being and don't want to seem vain, but his ears come out far at the top and I worry about bullying. I was always able to cover my ears with my hair, but always felt self concious if I had to wear my hair up. I was badly bullied for being fat, ugly and poor and just don't want to see my boy go through anything like that. But I don't want to put him under the knife because of my own insecurities. These Ear Buddies I've seen on the market seem like a simple and safe way to influence the settling of the cartilage growth. But it seems expensive for what is basically just tapping down the ears for a few hours a day.

Have any of you tried these Ear Buddies, something similar or have thought about having your child's ears pinned?
