Nipple Confusion from Pacifier?

Pretty sure my 1 month old has been comfort nursing after just getting over some issues with gas from my strong letdown. Dhe gets frustrated because she wants to nurse, but doesnt always want the milk and is juuuuust now starting to learn a lighter suckle. I'm exclusively breastfeeding and worried she may get nipple confusion if I introduce a pacifier to her too soon, but wonder if it would be of some benefit? But I've also heard paci's can cause gassiness issues as well. Thoughts?

I was worried about it to until I took my little one to her 2 week check up and asked the doctor. 
Everything changed after that. I asked him about nipple confusion and it being a different sucking motion from boob to pacifier. He said, does your baby suck her hand or thumb, did you ever get an ultrasound picture with her thumb in her mouth??? Well all those are different sucking motions. He told me a pacifier is great for soothing. Also an infant can start using you and your boobs as their personal pacifier.!!!! Thats exactly what had brought me to my point. She didn't always want to eat she just wantes to sooth.

I was worried about that with my daughter too but out of desperation we started a paci at three weeks. Life saver! It calms her down and saves my nipples. She'll only use mam brand and avent.

I gave my 2 day old a pacifier and he exclusively breastfed for 10 months until he self weaned. Never had an issue breastfeeding.

I have a 3 1/2 yo and a 3 month old and they have both used a paci with no confusion.
