The thing to look out for is the oozing, not necessarily the smell. Don't get too worried if it stinks. The remains of the umbilical cord is nothing but rotting flesh hence the reason why it decays and falls off on its own. It will likely smell and won't smell good! Give it some time. If the area still feels wet and looks gooey, your pedi will likely put silver nitrate on a qtip to get rid of it. This stings just a tad bit will clear up all the "ooziness" going on lol.

Looks good to me! It's still healing, but like the other comment.. if it's not oozing and there is no stink, it's okay! If you're really worried you can take her in and if they find it necessary they'll put some mercury on it.

I feel like alot of people think it looks infected because it looks like a fresh wound. However if it starts to puss and stink then I'd be worried.
