Gender disappointment/rant

Yesterday was our gender reveal party and we found out we're having a baby girl. I was really excited because I honestly didn't care if it was a boy or a girl this is my husband and I first baby so im happy with a healthy baby. I know in gender parties people take sides of whether they think it's a boy or girl but I was seriously upset to know that a lot of my husband's family and even my dad were disappointed at the fact that it was a girl and not a boy. I know in the Hispanic culture boys are always desired especially as the first one but it made me really sad to think that people were disappointed that it was a girl. I don't understand why we still have these ideas snd girls are not wanted and it just made me really upset my husband played along with the joke but I think he realize when we got home that it was really upsetting and he apologized and reassured me he wasn't disappointed and would love or baby regardless, I just don't get it, people would congratulate him and tell him well maybe next time like having a boy on the first try is such an accomplishment I don't know if I overreacted or if it's just pregnancy hormones but it just really bothered me.
