intimacy after baby ? 🤔

I haven't had my baby yet but I'm just wondering how does intimacy after kids work? When they're asleep? Husband baby and I will be sharing a room. We don't have a separate bedroom for the baby until we move most likely towards the end of this year. Do we get a sitter and rent a hotel room every time ? Do we leave him with family for a few hours or the night ? I'm just wondering how much planning do you have to put into being intimate once baby is born or you have multiple kids even??

Babies sleep alot. And the first year don't worry about them knowing what's going on. Unless you both scream you can have sex in same room. Invest in a white noise machine, you'll want one anyway.

We were uncomfortable having sex in the same room as baby so we used the couch with blankets under us.

We've just kept the baby in another room. For us, we learned really quick that it can't go very long- just in case something were to to happen. But we've kept her on the floor with toys or in a pack-n-play; she has no clue what's going on. Shower works well too. Have a garage/closet/bathroom? It's like being teenagers again lol.

We wait for baby to nap/sleep and take the opportunity. We will go in the next room and just listen out for baby.

Just plan to do it once baby goes down for nap or bed. Be warned though, they can totally tell when your about to do it, even in a different room. I'm 11 weeks pp and we have only been able to do it twice. Other times attempted he woke up. Baby goes to bed with me so nap times are usually best time for me and my hubby.
