Oxymorons of Labor

I am so tired of all the what-ifs! Anyone else?! I have been in preterm labor for almost 2 weeks and all of the "rules" for calling / active labor / the real deal don't seem to apply to me! I'm a FTM so all of these unknowns are driving me nuts! I have contractions all day, sometimes 2 mins apart for hours. I've been the the hospital twice and sent home after stopping contractions only for them to start again. I can't use the "5 mins apart for an hour" rule anymore because it clearly doesn't apply to me. I can't use the "if you can't talk and walk" through them rule because that's happened a few times and still no baby. I'm over 50% effaced and a fingertip dilated but I can't use they information to help predict because, as you know, that means nothing as far as timing. Baby dropped, and that apparently means nothing as far as timing as well. Could be in an hour, could be weeks from now!! Basically THE ONLY way I feel like I'll know is if my water breaks, and that only happens less than 25% of the time.
