Edgy haircut advice (photos incl)

So, I've been talking about cutting my medium long hair for months, but I keep chickening out. I've had it short before and I loved it! I have wavy hair that curls the shorter it gets. That being said, I've had it messed up LOTS of times because the stylist misunderstands my hair, but I probably could have explained what I wanted better, I suppose. Short hair in pic is from 4 years ago, compared to now. I loved the short cut and my SO has been asking me when I'm doing that again. I don't want asymm again because it's awkward to grow out and expensive to keep trimming up. I want something different! Ive even contemplated a pixie but I don't have the balls😂 and around and around we go...
