Knowing you want more kids right after birth?

Am I crazy?!? We just had our second child four weeks ago, but since about 2 weeks postpartum we've known we want more kids.

Before we had our second we were pretty certain we'd probably be two and done. But since his birth we've suddenly become a little baby crazy for a few more. I came from a big family and LOVED IT but never thought I'd ever have the energy for a big family, or even want a family as big as mine, but now I'm looking at large families longingly.

Did anyone else feel this way after their baby was born? After my first I knew I wanted a second someday in theory, but I definitely didn't feel this same strong pull to have more kids.

How many kids did you end up having? Is that amount different than the amount you thought you wanted?

Haha i never wanted kids until i had my first miscarriage (didnt even guess inwas pregnant until the period from hell lasted 4 weeks) then having a baby was all i could think about. I just wanted one i said- then he came early and my labor was traumatic and once he came home from the nicu i knew inwanted another- of course nothing comes easily so we battled secondary infertility and another few losses bit finally now my son is 3 and baby boy #2 is due in less than two weeks and I couldnt be happier!

My baby is 4 weeks and I KNOW I'm not done. Unfortunately my husband is pretty sure he's done. Guess I need to sneak one by the goalie... ;)  (for real though we're going to have a serious discussion about it)

I never understood those people who weren't even healed from childbirth that were already planning their next child.  It always seemed like some sort of weird honeymoon stage or the birth equivalent to a runners high.

Then my third and final (?) child was born and I joined those weirdos (no offense).  All of a sudden I was not so sure about closing the book on that chapter of my life.

My first is 4 months old. I was sure I would have two and stop but as soon as I saw her face I knew I needed more than 2.
We'll probably have 3 ... But I'm a sahm, so we have to be realistic money wise, but if we could afford it I would like 4 ... Or 5?

Even with a super miserable delivery I was dying for another one almost immediately after! I'm two months pp, and still have the urge for another asap! I am doing my best to contain the feeling and just enjoy my baby girl for the time being, but will definitely be trying for another once my body has healed from my c-section!

Right after birth I said I should have gotten my tubes tied.  When my LO was one week I was having baby fever again which I told myself was insane since I had a baby.  I just loved being pregnant even though I complained a lot the last month.  My SO does not want another right away so I have to reign in the crazy for a while until I can get him on board.

I had my first 18 days ago and I know I want another. I've known since I was pregnant. However now that we're adjusting mainly to me going back to work I'm willing to wait longer then we planned. We thought we'd start trying again at the beginning of 2018 our baby would be a year old. I'm thinking maybe we should wait until he's two to start trying again. Our lives are so crazy right now, my husband started a new job, were in the process of buying a house, and in a few years he'll be taking over his families farm which once he does I'll be able to stop working which is what we really want for our kids. His mom was always working 2 or 3 jobs as was mine so we really want to be in a position to have me stay home. Not to mention once he takes over their farm he'll only work 5 months out of the year.

We just had our first, and our plan is to have 2 and adopt 1. But I guess I'm still yet to find out what actually happens.

I enjoyed TTC, pregnancy, and the newborn stage so much that I definitely have baby's on the brain... But in reality I want a zen household and always envisioned having 2 very far apart in age. So very important in my case to reign those urges in lol. Your situation sounds legitimate whereas I think I just have classic baby fever!

I had a horrible birth but 2days PP we were talking about having baby2 asap!x
