period timing?

My last period ended on December 18th. I got on birthcontrol on the 9th of January. So my period was supposed to start a couple days ago. Is that going to change due to the time I started birthcontrol, because of the green pills? I'm just sort of concerned. I haven't had any blood or anything and my lower back and head hurt. I was also bloated a little bit ago. Does this involve the pill? When will my period come?

Your period will arrive at some point during the placebo week (green pills). But don't be worried if you start to bleed before that. Since you just started the pill, you are going through an adjustment phase and may experience some "breakthrough bleeding" (basically just spotting) in the active weeks. Don't be alarmed if that happens and just take the pill as normal. Also, those symptoms seem like normal side effects of the pill. Read the pamphlet that came with pack of pills for more info!!

Also!! Did you start the pills on the 9th (a Monday), because the pills start the day of the week with a Sunday. I am only asking bc the pamphlet should also come with stickers that you can place at the top of the pack for whichever day you started. This way you don't become confused with the day of the week.
