College or military?

Question

I graduated and received my AA degree last spring and was thinking about going back to school this fall and major in criminal justice that is offered online. But, I like history too and it's offered only on campus. I'm currently getting in shape so that if I wanted to join the military I'll be somewhat physically ready for boot camp. Should I just go to school then enlist as an officer or get degree while in military?

Depends how much responsibility do u want once in military? Yes if u go to college first u can be officer but that comes with a price. Being a officer makes you commanding a lot of times some hefty decisions cud b in your hands. Or u can join as a private and work your way up n work on degree while in. Then if u still want to b officer go green to gold or officer candidate school. Depends on experience you want. I've been military for 11 yrs in enlisted side and pay isn't great but experience is at times lol

You could always go National Guard if you're unsure you want to make the jump to active duty, same training but instead of being active for 4 years, you just drill once a month in whatever state you choose. I've been in 7 years and loved it, I think it's a great way to get a leg up in today's economy.

I'd say go enlisted, finish your degree, then go officer. You'll get a hell of a lot more respect being prior enlisted and there's tons of programs to help you go officer.

I'm 99.9% certain that you need a bachelors degree to be an officer in the military, if that was one thing you were factoring in. But it really all depends on what you want to do if you join. What branch would you consider? How long do you think you want to stay in for? With an associates degree, you 'could' go in at a higher enlisted rank. Other good points were already stated like you could definitely have the military pay for 75%-100% of your continuing education while you're Actuve Duty. And you'll also have the Post 9-11 GI Bill you can use after you separate. All up to you though girl!!

Depends what you want in life. Military is just a lot of physical and menta strength. They put you through hell (I know someone that just came back from bootcamp) not everyone is cut out for it. Wouldn't hurt to talk to someone. I'm about to graduate with my AA in early childhood education and want to continue to get my BA in early childhood education. I will be the only of 3 kids to do so. 
Just all depends on you. I would definitely weigh my options first with both. Do pros and cons.
