Family Confliction Opinions
Okay, so this quarter at school a new roommate was added to my room, and she smokes all the time with the windows closed. My room smells like cigarettes and weed all the time, and I don't smoke and dislike the smell.
I have two options right now, I can either move into a different room, which would cost me like $500-$800 dollars, which is very expensive, or I can get a housing refund, and move off-campus with my SO.
We have been dating a year and a half, and have wanted to move in for a while now. If I moved off campus with him, we could split rent, which would be about half the price of living on campus right now.
The only thing stopping me, is the fact that my mom doesn't approve, and says that it isn't even an "option" this school year. She often thinks I am incapable of making my own decisions, even though I am 18 and not living at home.
I am not trying to disrespect my mom, please no hates, please just opinions or help. This is all very stressful.
