I would never say this to them but

My boyfriends parents are more than well off financially. They are very open about finances over dinner conversation etc. Well my bfs dads sister just found out he has cancer. The lady who has cancers husband is disabled and hasn't worked in years so obviously they are struggling financially. The kids of them just started working so it's not like they can dramatically alleviate the financial burden. I'm just shocked that how close my bfs family is to them that they wouldn't step in more. I have known the family for almost 8 years but just shocked that they aren't evening attending fundraisers the nieces have planned. Does anyone else find it shocking that people wouldn't help them? I'm just very shocked by this. I hope this makes sense please be kind! Ps ik their finances are known of business I'm just saying this as like they should help even if it's buying dinner or something
