Ectopic pregnancy surgery

I don't understand, but my doctor never gave me the option of the shot he had me have the surgery right away to remove my left tube, but he told me we caught it early. I was very early in my pregnancy probably 5-6 weeks. Is it better that he did the surgery is that why he never even gave me the option of getting the shot instead of removing my tube right away? I don't get it I'm still so torn if the loss of my baby and I'm so confused to why he removed my tube and now he told me my right tube is blocked now as well😭💔
