Why don't you believe in God?

Question

People of religious faith... you have to understand this... You have been brought up your whole life being told about God. So when you hear someone say he's not real you think that's crazy because you've been told one thing your whole life...
Well guess what! I feel the same. It seems crazy to think there is a man in the sky who invented us and then sent his kid down here to die and made all these wired rules any only told a few people.
Like believing sounds cool but no part of me could ever in a million years take something like that seriously, just like you feel so deeply that there's someone looking out for you.

I don't believe in religion but I believe in God. I believe in the God that loves EVERYONE. Religion has turned God into something he's not. I DO understand people that don't believe. My SO doesn't believe in God. I struggled whether I believed or not growing up because I was in love with a girl and I was told God hates me. God doesn't hate me, religious people do. God hates no one. And that's just what I believe. My belief is different than others. And everyone can have their own beliefs and that's fine. I just don't get people that BASH others because of what they believe.  Don't force someone to believe God is real and don't try to force people to believe he's not. It's your choice to decide.

I was raised atheistic. I never believed in God and would mock religions (my mother for example played games with us like 'let's draw Jesus in swimming suit'!!)… guess what?? Atheism doesn't make sense. As I got older I started having more and more questions which my mother couldn't answer. Like: if this universe began with the Big Bang, how come this gasuous state of the universe exploded? I mean, action - reaction is the first physics law you learn at school. No action… no reaction… things don't just explode from nowhere. And how come this explosion formed a universe, with planets orbiting around a sun in perfect spheres, not coming closer nor getting further away. As far as I know every explosion causes a mess. 
I noticed my mother started waving my questions aside. You think too far, she'd say. It surprisedme because my mother always thaught me to use my brains and not follow what others say. It's true you cannot see God nor proove His existence scientifically, but I see the proof of His existence in everything around me. 
Like the wind, we cannot see it, only it's results. We cannot hear it, only it's results. We can not smell it, only what it takes with it of odours. And yet everyone believes in the existence of the wind. Although we cannot touch it, nor put a piece of it in a box. 
As for me, I am 100% convinced that God is real, and knowing this gives responsabilities, resposabilities atheists prefer not to take. I find monotheistic people (practising Jews, practising Christians and practising Muslims) the most trustworthy people on earth.

I believe in God. I grew up Christian. Catholic actually, until my family and I saw very clear inconsistencies in Catholicism and so now we're just Non-deominational Christians. Not Baptist of Methodist or Presbyterian or 19th Day Adventists or Jehovah Witness'. We just love God & believe God loves all no matter what we do, period, none of that extra clique'd up religious stuff. But the only reason I still am Christian now that I'm older is because I've received my own confirmation. I'm not just a blind follower anymore, I've experienced things that could only be explained supernaturally, that led me to believe there is a higher power & that His name is Jesus. I don't blame people that don't believe, I'm like yeah If you've experienced what I have you'd have not a doubt in your mind lmao. But a lot of times I wish He'd prove to people like He's proven to me that He exists. But then I remind myself that the whole point of Christianity is to have faith in that which is not seen. If you must be proven to first then it's not faith, but I had been praying a while & worked for it though so yeah. But I live and let live by all means.

I was raised as a preachers daughter- I was baptized at a young age. Did I fully understand? Not one single bit. I knew it was right that was all. But during high school, I went through a phase of pure heartbreak. I mean it was tough. I stopped eating because I physically couldn't I was so hurt and got down to 89 pounds. I was at rock bottom. I didn't know who else to turn to but God. I literally gave it my all. I prayed constantly and I read my bible constantly. I wanted to know more and more and more. God was working in my life and it had never been more clear. He was there for me the whole time. I just wasn't looking. How do I believe? It's faith. I see Gods hands in everything. There is phrase that says when you put things in Gods hands you begin to see Gods hands in everything. It is so true. Even as a pastors daughter- I made mistakes. My family made mistakes. Every Christian has made mistakes. And that's what's so remarkable about God. The underserving grace. There is absolutely no love like that. I don't know you, but once you experience that love that only he can give you want everyone to experience it. So I'm praying you will open your heart and seek him. You will fully understand why people believe. Is it easy? No! That's why so many people do not. But it's so worth it. I hope you have a great night and if you want to talk more I'm here.

LUCKILY I also grew up with my best friends parents who are Buddhist and Wiccan so I was opened up a bit.. thank goodness lol. Now I don't really believe in anything. Honestly I tried but it's just not for me lol.

I gave up religion a long time ago, but no matter what one thinks might sound crazy, it's about believing in something bigger than yourself. Everyone believes in some sort of story of how it all began, and whether it's faith or science, it's all pretty incredible.

I never believed in any of it. Usually, people who are raised one way don't understand any other way. I however am proof that this isn't exactly true. 
The earliest question I had for my family, I think I was like 4-6
I asked about different religions- knew about them because I was taught about them and how the Christian god is the only true god. They were teaching this to little people. And I asked my mom if everyone who believed in a different religion because of where they were raised was going to hell because they don't believe in the true god.  Nobody would answer my question.  I was odd and full of questions a child normally wouldn't ask and my mom even tells me that i, as a small child would ask questions like that in front of my whole family and put everyone on the spot

I choose to live my life under the assumption that there is no God (Occams razor) but who I am to say that there isn't one? I don't think anyone can definitively say god does or doesn't exist. I choose to not believe but it honestly really bothers me when atheists tell believers straight up that god doesn't exist.
