IUD pain and no strings

So on Friday I had sex with this guy and he was larger than my ex and he said he could feel my strings. Yesterday I had some cramping and I shouldn't be cramping and today I checked for my strings and I can't really feel them..I think I may feel one but I'm not sure anymore. Should I go to my doctor or is this normal?? HELP
