Nuva ring

So my dr prescribed me the nuva ring because I have trouble with the pill and we needed to figure out if I have endometriosis. He still is not sure about the endometriosis. However I am suppose to have the ring in consistently for three weeks take it out and right away put another one in. Three months before he wants me to give my body a break from the ring. He said I shouldn't have a period at all until that third month. So what I am asking is it normal to have a period with the ring still in. I'm cramping and everything. I have tried to contact my doctor regarding my symptoms I am showing however he has yet to get back to me in two days now. I have called multiple times without a call back. What do I do?!
