Yes, you can have up to 200 mg a day or two cups a day. I drink tea and half-caff coffee. I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow. My midwife said it's all good.

I gave it up when I had a mc. I felt awful those couple days so the withdrawal headache wasn't my main concern. Then I just decided to give it up for the time being. I'm 7weeks now. I'll have the occasional caffeinated tea but not every day. It feels kinda nice to not be dependant on coffee, for me it was more of a habit/comfort thing. Maybe I'll pick it back up when I have all those sleepless nights to come!

You can drink up to 200mg a day and first trimester is when they usually advise not to drink due to possible causes of miscarriage. I drank coke and coffee with all 3 of my other kids and they were fine, no withdrawal when born, no low birth weight and no long term effects. The only thing I will add is caffeine is a diuretic so make sure you're drinking plenty of water!
