Anyone told they have to go in for scheduled C-section and if so why?

I was told that I have to have a c section with my second child as with my first child I had a 32 hour labor and still only got to 5cm.. then I had an emergency c-section as his heart rate was dropping. I was told this time I probably won't be able to have s natural birth and should have a c-section scheduled. Anyone else with same experience?

I'm having a scheduled c section too. My last child presented hand 1st and I wasn't about to break her arm or clavicle just to prove I could push her out so I had an emergency c section. My doctor doesn't do Vbac due to the risk involved is too unpredictable to mom and baby. Frankly I don't blame her one bit. Specially in America where if you are looked at wrong people threaten to sue you or gather the hordes to protest. 🙄. I had already made my mind up before I knew she didn't do them that I wasn't going to do s vbac. I have a fibroid and am prone to heavy post bleeding. Also this is baby number 5 and I'm 38. So my odds of a complication was at 25% right out the gate of a ruptured uterus which scared the kiss out of me. I don't have the best of luck and the weird and u usual tends to happen to me. And at my 20 week sonogram they found my placenta in a low lying position. I get another scan to see if it will move away but that's currently my nightmare that they will have to go through the placenta to get the baby.

Lots of women aren't able to have a VBAC. If you've already had a c section and your second baby is close in age to your first you may not be healed enough for your body to deliver vaginally

That's what happened with mine. In labor for a while and never got far enough for the pushing phase. Baby got distressed, so they took me for emergency surgery. They had refilled my epidural too many times (or I had it too long) and it had worn off, so they put me under general anesthesia for the c-section. Apparently I started bleeding out on the table and it took a few hours to stabilize me and get me to recovery.  I vaguely (through my drug haze, and being a confused scared 19 year old) remember afterwards an RN telling me I was basically allergic to labor, and I would need scheduled c-sections from now on, so I wouldn't have to actually go into labor. 
It's been 10 years since then, and I'm pregnant with my second. I had all my records from the first hospital faxed to my new OB to go through. I would love to try a VBAC, for easier healing (although having a set due date would be nice), but I am terrified of going into labor if something doesn't work, and I end up needing a c-section again.  I'm curious to go to my next appointment to see what my OB says about the birth plan, after reviewing my notes.
