What would you do if your mother in law was giving your 2 year old step child benedryl and coffee everyday?

Of course I've talked to my husband about the dangerous effects of benedryl he doesn't want to upset our only form of daycare.

In my opinion it's child abuse especially since she's gives him coffee and then counteracts it with benedryl. She's even had a nurse scream in her face when she told her she was giving my step son benedryl for a fucking ear infection at 15 months old.

I also want to add that this women was biting him when he was going through a biting phase to show him "biting hurts"...

The damage that caffeine and Benadryl can do to the development of a child is very concerning. I wouldn't allow that at all. Serious damage could be done. No medication should ever be used incorrectly and I take Benadryl for allergies and no where on the label does it say it treats ear infections. Plus any Benadryl pill/syrup that I've ever used states that children under 5 should not be given the medicience unless directed by a doctor. What your MIL is doing is child abuse. You don't give kids (especially not someone else's child) medication that is not approved by the parents or medication that could damage them.

Yes, this is abuse. If your husband doesn't want to protect his child then I would contact your step-sons mother. This isn't okay, and allowing it to go on makes you an accomplice to the abuse.

Uh, my kid would NOT be around her anymore. Never. 
My mom doesn't even let me take Benadryl all the time anymore, apparently it's been linked to Alzheimer's and I am not messing with increasing my chances.

You should not condone this in anyway. Stand up and defend that poor child that cannot defend itself please! If their own father won't do it he's just as worthless as his mother. That's sick and if I found out someone was drugging my child to put them to sleep because of laziness I'd be livid and honestly don't know what I'd do but that person would be in trouble. 😡
