Enough toys for baby?

Question

I'm wondering if I don't have enough to entertain my 3.5 month baby. She has a play mat and a chair with some toys on a bar, she also has some little toys like rattles, and I read to her but she gets cranky every day and I can't figure out what she needs and if I let her watch spongebob a little bit she's more content. I'm wondering if she needs to be more active. She can almost stand on her own, I'm not really comfortable letting her watch TV everyday but she's just not very entertained with her other stuff. Any suggestions?

In my opinion baby shouldn't be watching tv... I put mine on the floor with either her play gym or with a few toys and let her kick her legs and hopefully learn to roll there. I also put her in the carrier to get things done around the house, she usually falls asleep.. I also try getting out of the house at least once a day. Babies love looking at faces so sometimes I just sit in a chair and sit her up facing me and sing or talk to her. I don't think you need more toys...sounds like you have enough. Try letting her out of chairs and exersaucers that keep her confined and just let her explore on the floor

At that age my baby was more interested in me than toys. Obviously you can't constantly entertain your baby 24/7 but that was and is what my daughter likes best, just me talking to her and interacting with her. She is more interested in toys now than she was a few months ago but she still prefers human interaction over anything else.

Sounds like you have plenty of toys, but my son is around the same age and he has a doll that sings the alphabet and teaches him how to count and he LOVES it. It crinkles and squeaks. The brand is Baby's First. We also have a caterpillar that has beads that fall from one side to the other and he really likes watching them. Sometimes his other toys and books don't hold his attention as much as these do.

We watch public tv in the morning. I suggest Daniel Tiger and/or Sesame Street for age appropriate stimulation.
My son gets fussy at times and that's how babies are…in my opinion. I spend most of my day on the floor with my son. I'm always talking, singing, asking questions. I show him how to use the next toy if he gets bored with one. And then, there are times were I just sit and hold him because he wants to cuddle.
