Period or implantation bleeding?

Oka so this morning my fiance and I had sex and it was wonderful, as i lay there for a min i feel the bed get wet under my butt. Slowly as i stand up, trying to hold everything in that he just let off in me, i walk to the bathroom. Pee do my business and when i wipe i notice its abnormal so i take a look at it and its bloody! I clean myself up and put in a tampon to finish getting ready for the morning. Last week was suppose to be my ovulation week and im not due to start my period till next week, and i am RARELY early, im usually late on my period. What is different between implantation and your period?
