daycare or no daycare??

My son is one year old.. He is the only child at home so he is a little spoiled (no judgement please) We rent a room at my mothers in law...and Lately he has been acting out big time, he starts yelling and screaming and he always throws himself back which he hits his head on the floor sometimes. He doesn't wants my mother in law nor my father in law to hold him or even look at him. He starts screaming (that annoying screaming) when my husband and I say no to him or when he doesn't gets what he wants. He acts fine when nobody is home and it's just him and I..I even take him to his baby gym class but he has been doing his temper tantrums there also to the point where we have to leave early. He does fine when I ask my sister to babysits him for a few minutes. But when I go home it's back to screaming and he only wants me to hold him until my husband gets home..my husband said its time to take him to a daycare so he can learn to play with other kids his age and learn to be independent. I know my husband is right but im just scared of leaving him since I feel like he is still small and he still needs me. Im just wondering how old were your little ones when you started taking them to daycare?
