Is/has anyone been terrified of favoring one of your children?

My hormonal ass really needs to stop watching This Is Us. Had me crying like a baby..And honestly feeling anxious about some deep seeded issues.

I'm pregnant with my second daughter and I'm all kinds of worried I won't have the same bond with one than I do with the other, or my husband will love his blood more than my first/his step daughter. We have to share custody with my first daughter's dad so I'm also worried it'll be hard for her to only be with us half time while her sister gets to be here full time. 😭😭

Any advice to talk my crazy emotions down?

I think it's normal to favor one child over another.  As a mother I love both my children equally and find that they both have beautiful unique qualities... but out of the 2 and a step there is one I am closer with. . One who is sweeter,  more polite , and the other who is funnier to hang out with and have girl chats with . If you ask my children separately which one is my favorite they would each tell you they are !! If they ask me I always say the dogs... lol chip and spike.  I was worried I would have a harder time bonding with our son because he's a boy and because I just had my daughter for 6 years.  Her and I weathered many storms and ate incredibly close.  It turns out that worry was totally ridiculous and it's my son that I can't get enough of.  My daughter is getting to a sassy age where she's negative and not overly nice and my son is the sweetest kindest little human alive . If you ask me right now my son is my secret number #1 ... I know a lot of parents share your worry,  but you'll be surprised at how much room your heart has in it ... the capacity for us to love our ever growing families is boundless 💛💙💛💙💛.. it's okay to worry, we all do ... I promise you , you'll love your kids both with such fierceness 💜💙💜💙💛

Well I'm having my first so I can't personally relate but I can tell you a little similar story! After my husband was born, his dad told his mom that he didn't want any more kids because he didn't think he could ever love another child as much as he loved my hubby. Four years passed and he relented. And trust me, he loves my bro in law JUST as much :) Even he'll tell you it was all in his head
