dilation?

At what point are you supposed to start dilating? I'm 35 weeks and was checked by my doctor and everything is still closed up tight. I'm worried this baby is here to stay. 😩 I don't want to carry him past my due date.

MANY first time moms dont dilate till labour starts. Iv had 2 friends go into labour at 0 cm at 38 weeks...meanwhile with my first i made it to 4 cm and 38.5 weeks before my son came. Also keep in mind the average gestation of a first time mom is 41w1 day so you may start dilating later. Also keep in mind someone can go from 0-10 cm in 5 hours and aomeone can be at 6 cm for 4 weeks then have the same legnth labour or longer. Dilation doesnt mean much

You can progress from 0-10 for weeks or it can all happen over night. It's different from person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy. Also dilation alone doesn't mean anything, someone can be dilated to 2 but have a long cervix and some one can have a very thin cervix and not be dilated.

im 36+3 and only 1/2 centimeter. you'll get there girl! baby will make their way out when baby wants! :) oh man i feel SO DONE with this pregnancy.

I'm 37 week and didn't get check yesterday. I got check last week and it was nothing. I did some reading and everything can happen so quickly. No accurate predictions can come so early. It will happen when it is meant to happen. I used to think omg I dont want to go over my due date. Now I have came to terms that it is a real possibility and it's okay. I really wouldn't want to force my body into a situation that could harm myself or the baby. Additionally, I think about the optimate nutrition that my baby gets from me. If I push her out sooner than she would want she misses out on that. We have made it this far! I enjoy feeling her fill up my belly. Trust in your body and know that we can't predict how our children will be born and that is okay! It makes each of our deliveries so special

I'm 38 w and haven't dilated yet. It's not a big deal. 35 w is a bit soon to worry about being dilated :)
