Soda addiction?

How will I convince my husband to stop his soda addiction? I feel like I already said it all but nothing is working. My daughter is only 8-months old and I dont want her to not have a daddy so early if he wont stop this. he's overweight like around 360lbs as of the moment. I feel sad and disappointed. Diet coke, regular coke, flavored.. it doesnt matter.. the 24 cans can only last for 2 days, 3 days tops.

Please no negative comments, I am already not feeling good as of the moment.

Have you tried asking him to go to counseling with you? Sometimes having a mediator that can help explain your fear of losing him due to his health can help. Also, are you suggesting any positive additions to his lifestyle that may help offset his eating/drinking habits? For example, my mom is overweight and has diabetes. I couldn't seem to get her to understand how much her eating habits scare me. Instead, I said, I want to spend more time one on one with you. Can we got for a walk with the dog after dinner every day? She was good with it, and she started losing a little weight which motivated her to make other changes too, all of which I did right there with her. I cut out sugar and soda, and chips and candy. Seeing me do it helped keep her on track. I don't Need to, I'm underweight and not diabetic, but it won't hurt me to be healthier and it'll motivate her.

It sounds like he needs a complete diet. While cutting out cokes can help loose a lot of weight (with exercise) your body will come to a stopping point. He would need to wing him off slowly. His body is dependent of caffeine and will now probably experience caffeine withdrawal.

Stop buying it and try sparkling water when he's craving the soda and just drink lots of water

Drinking soda is like sea water it just makes u more thirsty which is why he is drinking so much also just bet him to drink a small cup of water before each pop and bet consumption goes down.

Start buying flavored/sparkling water. It's still not super healthy due to the aspartame, but it's better than soda.

Try weening him of slowly if your the only one that goes shopping start replacing with cranberry juice or milk etc.... My uncle drank so much soda he had kidney stones. I hope it doesnt get to that point . Diet anything is worse for you than stuff that isnt . try sitting down and tell him what you think about this. Its guna take time little by little he should try and drink less and less soda each day minus 1 soda each day that goes on. Good luck

If you do the shopping, stop buying it. Not having something in the house is SUCH a great way to cut back on it. Convenience is a major component in these behaviors.
