Addicted to having babies

Is there an actual psychological addiction to having more and more kids? I know a few young girls about 22 and 23 and they both have 4 kids now, all one year a part. They were not able to afford a large family after having one. Both of the baby daddies have legal issues and such which makes it hard for them to work and provide for the family. 😔 I am just wondering if having a baby every year can be addicting to fill a void? Because there are women I know who actually have plenty of money to have more than one or two kids but still claim that it's "too expensive." But then I'm thinking how do poor people want to have more kids, they never complain that it's expensive.... I am psych minor in college but haven't gotten to this topic yet and idk if I even will but I would like to know what can possibly make someone go above what they can afford?? These two girls don't even work. If I was in their financial situation I would stop at two kids and find a job before even thinking about trying for my third. But hey, that's just me. I just feel that some girls put themselves in very tough situations and then expect people to feel bad for them.
