Im 12 weeks pregnant and have just been told i have A- blood type, my partner has A+. The midwife said i will need an injection?? Has anyone had this and had a normal healthy pregnancy/baby??

It's called a rhogam shot. I am O- and Daddy is O+. You will get your first shot around 28 weeks I believe unless you have significant bleeding prior then they would give it to you sooner. Once the baby is born they will test their blood type. My daughter was O+ like Daddy so I had to get a second dose of rhogam. If she was negative like me then I wouldn't have needed it. This is a fairly common issue with pregnancy so I really would not be concerned

I have A- blood, and rhogam shot is what they will give you. You'll have one during the pregnancy and then if your baby has + blood type they will give you another one.. I didn't have any issues besides I gave birth early but that's because I was under a lot of stress, my son is now a healthy 6year old

Yes it's super common but you need to get the shot ASAP bc it can cause you to miscarry if you don't get it. I have 2 family members who have it and have had healthy pregnancies. God bless and good luck!
