when did you start buying baby stuff?

When did you start? I doubt I'm having a baby shower and it's my first baby so I don't know when to start buying things.

I waited until AFTER my baby shower, which was at 29 weeks. Then I knew what I still needed but didn't receive. Plus I got several gift cards and used those to purchase items. I'm waiting and saving money to buy her nursery items for the next 6 months as we are not really full of money and so as you all know it's very expensive, and she's gonna sleep in a co-sleeper with us in our room. No need to stress and have it done before she gets here when we won't use it until about 6 months.

I started looking for deals on the bigger items like stroller, car seat, bassinet, crib, changing table, etc as soon as I found out(12 weeks) and waited to find out the gender to buy clothes, blankets and other small bits.

I started buying big ticket items at 8 weeks, like the crib, dresser, changing pad etc. They were on a great sale and it was perfect timing.

I bought clothes as soon as we found out the gender. Decorations and furniture about halfway though. Then had my shower when I was 32 weeks where I got everything else like diapers, sheets, pacifiers, swing etc. Maybe purchase everything throughout the pregnancy to offset the cost, or maybe have a shower but ask for gift cards because this stuff can get expensive!

My mother in law started buys things for the baby when I was about 10 weeks! I thought it was a bit worrying just in case we lost the baby early on but gladly me and my husband have a beautiful baby boy on the way, the up side to buying early though it that I'm now 30 weeks pregnant and I don't need to worry about buying anything! As we have everything all ready to go xo

We lost our first, 10 years ago, at 26 weeks. Since then, we have waited until after 26 weeks to buy things. This is our fifth pregnancy and we will still wait until then. 😊
