Tampons

Sorry if this is TMI for some but I'm not sure if I should just call the doctor or not. I'm a week shy of 9mos postpartum and using tampons and having sex has been a nightmare. Every time I use a tampon it hurts. I wouldn't say it's excruciating but it's definitely uncomfortable. It hurts going in and coming out. It feels like all my insides are bruised. It's the same with sex it just hurts. I don't believe this to be an issue of things being too dry. I know it took 9 months for my body to change and I birthed a baby but it's it normal for these things to still be painful?
