am I being dramatic?

So my son is 1/16 Native American lol since I'm 1/8 (my great grandma was full ojibwe) Other than that he's fully African American. But strangers have asked me on a few different occasions "what's he mixed with?" I personally would never ask someone that I don't know what their kid is mixed with. That's rude. I get offended because that question is usually followed with he's so cute and his hair looks so soft.. to me that's like their saying he can't possibly be fully black because his hair is soft and he's cute.. am I overthinking?? Or would this offend anyone else?? My boyfriend thinks I give it too much thought but it really annoys me..
