should I keep my infant in a bubble??

So, maybe I'm wrong (tell me if I am) but my daughter is currently 9 days old and strangers keep saying things like "you already have her out?"  We can't be confined to our home all the time! Should I not take her out in public yet? I feel guilty every time someone says something like this and then I worry for days!

You are the mother. You make these choices. You need to learn to ignore noise made by other people. I have three small boys. Do you think I could stay home once I had my second? Or third? My husband left 2 weeks after my third was born for 6 months of on the job training 6 hours from home. I couldn't stay in the house for months. It's a very nice idea to stay inside and keep baby safe from germs until he has his first shots. It's also not always practical. My older sons have hockey and I need groceries, my eldest has school. I carry my baby's in a moby wrap when they are little. That way baby is safe against my chest. He sleeps soundly there. No one sees him in a car seat. No one can "peak at him." No one can touch him or cough on him. Most people don't notice you have a baby strapped to your chest until you are long gone. In order to see baby they have to cross into your personal space and that takes a lot of guts.

You are the mom. You make the decisions. Ignore other people and do you. Just keep that baby protected and safe if you go out

I take my babies out from the beginning as well. As soon as I feel up to it - less than a week with them all - and the get back to regular life. Mine were all breastfeeding anyway so I never worried about them getting sick, and none of them did that young. Ur a great mom for getting urself and ur kid out there

As long as they're in the stroller they should be fine and people should really mind their business. Life doesn't stop just because you have a baby and if you need to go out the baby should be fine

With the way the flu has been in my state we have kept my son home, except for dr apts. only vaccinated people around him and everyone must wash their hands. He is 6.5 weeks, I'm planning to wait until he's 3 months old, being a nurse I know too much, and pediatrician agrees. If your baby gets a fever above 100.4 under 3 months they take it very seriously let alone RSV and flu could seriously harm him so I'm protective but every mom should choose how they feel about it :) no one should ever tell another mom their way is the right way, I get so pissed when people tell me what I should do! You do you mama!

My LO is 2 weeks. I have taken him on a quick stroll around the block for fresh air but that's it. I agree life doesn't stop because you have a little one but that is where my support system comes in (spouse, mother or family member). I guess I'm old school. Not taking my baby out for at least 2 months (other than doctor visit).

I've been taking my LO out from the start. He's usually in a carrier or carry cot so doesn't have people leaning over him/touching him. I think just use common sense.

My LO has had one cold, but he got that from his dad who got it from work. You can't escape germs. Best to protect them with a strong immune system...Breastfeeding and a good diet is my way of doing that. His cold was cleared up in 2 days...He fought it like a champ.

I technically took my son to my work (target) the day we got out of the hospital because I had to pick up my medication and me and my husband was printing off a couple pictures because we found out his mom was dying while we were at the hospital. But then I ended up staying at my moms that night while my husband drove to Idaho to the hospital. I say it's fine. My son has never been sick at all.

We stopped at target on way home  from hospital and ate out /went out alot. So what feels right.
