how do I know if my water broke?

I was having stomach cramps the ones you get when you have diarrhea. And I used the bathroom and then normally I get in a warm bath to help relax my stomach and I got out and it felt like I had to pee.. and liquid came out but I don't know if I peed on myself or if it was my water breaking.. I don't have any contractions but it feels like this baby has hiccups or something. FTM so I literally have no clue about anything.😱

If it were your water it would be clear, no smell (sometimes might smell metallic though), would feel thicker than urine but thinner than vaginal discharge, and it would be coming out nonstop until you give birth. You would seriously have to basically put a towel between your legs. Also, if you think you might be leaking fluid then lay down in one position for 30mins to an hour and then stand up. If you feel a gush between your legs then yes it is your water.

My water broke with my last pregnancy at about 28 weeks. I was using the bathroom and when I stopped peeing fluid kept coming. I put a liner on and laid down. When I got up about and hour later the liner was soaked. I switch it and noticed it was soaked within 30 minutes so I called L&D. I went in and they swabbed my liner. My water broke.
So, do the liner test. If it gets soaked call L&D.

This happened to me the other day. I lost my mucus plug after peeing and when I stood up to pull up my pants I had a gush of fluids come out. Around 10am I called my OB and she said to put a panty liner on and check every hour. She said even the slowest of leak would soak the liner by the end of the day... at 5pm the liner was wet but definitly not soaked. My doctor called me again to check on me and she said it's likely the baby had just repositioned its self and forced urine our of my bladder. She said it's super common at the end of pregnancy

Lay on your back for 20 minutes and then stand up and if you have fluid gush, or leak it may of been your waters breaking.
