Painful sex after perineal tear?

How long has it taken you ladies to be able to have non-painful sex after a perineal tear? I am nearly 3 months PP and it is so painful, even with lube that I almost can't stand it. I miss sex and the intimacy and just want to be normal again! :(

I had a 2nd degree tear and it stopped hurting around 6 months pp. Probably another few weeks before it was enjoyable.

If you're really concernes, have your doc check you for something called granulation tissue. Sometimes tears don't heal quite right and the acar tissue becomes inflamed. Wasn't the case for me I don't think, but I've heard of a few women having this issue and they were good to go after getting it corrected.

Honestly I am a year and half postpartum, and there are still days where it hurts.

I tried at 6 weeks and cried immediately. I tried again at 8 weeks and it still sucked. A week or two later I got on top and decided to grind my teeth and get it in there, it wasn't a great time, but it doesn't really hurt anymore. Hubby didn't like the idea of forcing it but I think if I didn't it would have been months and months of torture.

Slowly at 8 weeks and it was uncomfortable until around 4 or 5 months pp. Just slow and gentle until my body got used to it again.

It was 4 months before it was good again. Still hurts a little but it's easy to ignore.

I was about 8 months before it felt good again. I had one tear. Had sex at 4 weeks before the 6 weeks mark and I think that's why I never healed properly.
