Yeast infections

I had a yeast infection last year and it was HORRIBLE. Thankfully the 7 day monistat treatment knocked it out no problem. Last week I started exhibiting some of the same symptoms (itching, irritation, and discharge) only this time the discharge is a slightly yellow/green color more than the white associated with these infections. I am super worried and weighing the options between visiting the doctor and trying the monistat again. Suggestions??
