Remove the child or not?

Not pregnancy related, but I'm watching my 3 year old's dance class. There is a little girl who started last week. This is the second week the little girl either hangs on the barre or sits in her mom's lap in the corner (parents aren't supposed to be in the room) and SCREAMS and beats on the wall. The other girls are distracted. Does the mom have a right to keep her kid in the class because she paid for it, or do the other parents have a right to ask for the girl to leave the room so the others can learn?  And yes, even at 3 the others are trying to pay attention and learn.

I'd ask that the "no parents in the room" rule be enforced. The girl might actually start engaging in the class without her mom hovering over her. There's a reason that rule is in place.

I'm just curious, is there something the little girl has to cause her to act in this way? Maybe mom and instructor talked before and are aware she has a disability and they're trying to ease her into the group. I don't know what she's actually doing but is the parent rule usually enforced? Is it just different with this one child?

Maybe she is special needs and theyre working on community integration. If its not actually effecting the other kids maybe make this a teachable moment to teach your child acceptance and to not judge what they dont know.

I taught martial arts, at times there were kids who would behave like that. Because they aren't confident enough. I think this little girl should atleast be given the opportunity to gain some confidence, it could really be a good thing for her and she deserves that. I'm sure it can be disruptive but chances are the parents will take her out of the class if it really doesn't work. The kids will get boredof watching her. Just remind you daughter to stay focused. Maybe even encourage her to speak to the little girl. Maybe the little girl just needs a friend, she's probably scared.

Its disruptive, yes. But put yourself in the parents shoes. They probably put the child in the class to help straighten her up a bit. Shes 3. Complaining to the owners of the business is just... kinda bitchy. 3 year olds are worse than 2 year olds. The parent is probably embarassed enough and doing what she has to do to try and solve it at home. She can only do so much! She definitely isnt going to spank her kid in public either. Leave her be. I understand its annoying, trust me ive worked with rowdy 3 year olds and its not fun. But put yourself in that moms shoes.

Not just because it's distracting but because 3 years old is an impressionable age and your child could pick up on this behaviour .

Its definitely disruptive. The other parents paid for the class as well and its not fair to the ones who want to participate. She clearly has no interest in the class and it's unfair to her to keep her there.

Its disruptive but I don't think the girl should be kicked out.... The mom should. If parents aren't supposed to be in the room, they shouldn't be in the room. It may take a minute but if the mom isn't around, chances are the kid would be better.

Maybe she just needs time to acclimate to a new experience. At that age, they can become overwhelmed easily. She started a week ago, I think she should be cut some slack. If she does it through a few more classes, then I'd ask the director what's happening, until then, she deserves a chance.
