Sudden weird brown discharge

I started spotting yesterday kind of like brown discharge, it gets somewhat dark and sometimes it has a faint red shade to it. My period doesn't start until 2weeks and glow says I ended my fertile window yesterday for this cycle. I'm actively trying to conceive so I'm assuming this can implantation bleeding. Is it normal for the bleeding to be such intense brown? The semi-fluid brown substance you find at the end of a period (sorry if it's tmi). Also, when should I test? the implantation takes somewhat less than a week but I don't think the home tests will be as efficient to trace HCG and I don't want to bother my doctor so soon. Has anyone experienced this kind of discharge when they got pregnant?
