I like dipping it. Sometimes it's hard to aim and move the stick in the right spot and then you pee all over the stick and yourself lol. Just easier to pee in a cup and then dip the stick. Then you also know for sure you got enough on it and you're not peeing in the area that shows whether your pregnant or not

I dip mine in a cup just so I know it's getting enough urine. The papers that come with the test will tell you how long to hold it in the urine. I think most are 20 seconds
