6 week ultrasound?

So I have my six week ultrasound on Monday. They are starting mine early because of the fact that I had to use fertility meds to get pregnant. What should I expect to see? Do I get a copy of the ultrasound? My husband is coming with me, how awkward was getting the transvaginal ultrasound with your SO in the room?

My first scan was at 6w5d we saw baby and the heart beating. At that appointment I had had 22 transvaginal ultrasounds and my husband was there for most of them so for me it was awkward at all bc it was routine for us. He was also there for my embryo transfer were I had my feet in stirrups with tons of people in the room looking at the goods so for me nothing is akward anymore. We got 4 ultrasound pictures to bring home. The only thing I was bummed about was not getting to hear the heartbeat the tech said the baby was too little to put that much stress on. My next ultrasound was at 8w6d with my new OB and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat

It wasn't awkward at all, my husband and mom were in the room for mine at 5 weeks 5 days. We saw the gestational and yolk sac but no baby and I got a sonogram to take home.

I had a dating ultrasound due to irregular periods and I was 4weeks 6days at the time. my mom and male best friend were with me and it wasn't too bad. A little awkward for me but I was covered with a sheet and my best friend is more gay then most people are straight so it wasn't that bad. I saw the sac and everything and a little teeny baby that looked like a grain of rice. They sent me home with a single picture because I requested it for memories sake.

If you're 6weeks it's tiny and there isn't a ton to see yet. Yes, they can see the heartbeat, no, you can't hear it because that would require Doppler which is too much concentration of sound on the tiny guy. If you're earlier than you think you'll just see a gestational sac and yolk sac. It depends on the place but you'll probably get pics....you probably can't get a copy of the full thing until it has been reviewed by a doctor. It's a small part to look at the baby, the rest is to evaluate your ovaries, uterus and adnexas.... you're better off waiting till the next one cause there's more for your spouse to see IMHO.

Honestly you don't notice the wand as much once they show the baby on the screen. And it looks like a jelly bean/gummy bear.  I can't remember if they can see the heartbeat at that point yet. You'll do great, and congratulations.

My fiancé saw mine go in for the ultrasound (accidentally) and he's a little scarred 😂 as long as he doesn't watch, it shouldn't b awkward at all. And my 6 week ultrasound looked like a jelly bean 😂
