anyone gone months without a period then got it? was your flow heavy? I really need your help and option (TMI)

Question

So I was close to 6 months without a bleed then today I a light flow/spotting lasted about 1-3 hours then nothing since, if this is indeed my period wouldn't it be a lot heavyer and last longer? I have no cramping which is unusual for me as I suffer really bad pain during my af. No clots or any other related symptoms 
.my normal flow is heavy and last 5-8 days 
Update this started over 12 hours ago had one light flow red/brown and then just spotting it stoped after 3 hours ish 
In the last hour I've had a few drops of red/pink then nothing grrrr 😡 so confusing 
Wouldn't it been really heavy since it's been so long and since my normal flow is heavy and painful

So my question goes to all lady's who have gone long periods of time without af,
Was your heavy? Med?or light? 
Clots? No clots? 
How long did it last?

Yes. I was going through heavy duty pads in a matter 30min. I had bad blots as well.

I went almost 2 years without a period (severe case of PCOS) when I finally did have a period it was extremely heavy and passed a lot of clots. Went to the Dr and they put me on a medication (don't remember the name) and than on birth control to regulate my cycle because my husband and I had been ttc for over 4 years with no luck. After getting my cycle regulated for 4 month we started trying again and welcomed our beautiful son in January.
