Did your child have a fever/ diahrea before cutting a tooth?

My daughter is going to be 6 months old tomorrow and has NOT gotten her first tooth yet. She has been having theething symptoms for the past month or so (chewing on anything and everything, excessively drooling, and swollen gums) today she randomly got a mild fever and started to have some mild diahrea I'm wondering if it's a virus or her cutting her first tooth? I am able to keep the fever down with tylonal but of it doesn't go away by tomorrow i will take her to see her doctor. What are your experiences with cutting theeth any suggestions to help? I have baby orajel have been giving tylonal and something cold to chew on.
