why he doesn't get me anything !!

Hello ladies, so me and my bf have been dating for 3 years and we are best friends from 9 years, but in those 3 years I got only two gifts from him (on two of my three birthdays (on my last bday he said that he doesnt have money to take me out or to buy me a gift)). Anyway in these 3 years I bought him a lot of gifts (once a month or one in 2 months max) I wanted to show him that I care for him and I always wanted him to buy my a little thing so I can feel special or appreciated but unfortunately nothing happened and I tried talking to him directly about it but he never answered me and always ran away from the conversation. I mean he traveled with his friends and he came back today and I was actually expecting a little gift or something but I got nothing so I got annoyed a little bit. Am I not good enough for him? Maybe I'm not pretty or feminine enough? In addition to this, in these 3 years we didn't go out and that's because he didn't want to and he said that he doesn't like to go to any social places, so in 3 years I guess we went out for (10 times maximum). I don't even get any affection messages from him showing that he loves me and appreciates me. 
Ladies the gifts are not the point since I buy myself a lot of things. But I thought that I deserve to know the feeling of being "special or appreciated".
UPDATE: for the women who said that I'm materialistic, I just said at the last sentence (which you probably read but didn't understand) of my post that gifts are not the point AT ALL, it's that I'm kept hidden and not taken out while on the other side he spends all his time with his friends, it's that I don't get any cute msgs or words or pics or anything small like that, it's about never doing anything to comfort me when I need it. It's about the effort a man needs to put in a relationship to make his woman feel special. And for those who says that my prob of being loved is deeper, I'm confident and I love and appreciate myself in and out.

Maybe gifts are not his "love language" which is okay but if he's not doing anything else with his actions/words/affection/etc. that's not okay.

Girl, if he can't even text you affection then I think you're with the wrong guy. Also, I totally get the gifts thing, it's really nice to get little things things from your SO that show that they were thinking of you. I think you need to make him talk to you about it and if he can't give you a legit reason for not giving you the things you want (gifts or lovey texts, whatever) then you need to rethink your relationship.

Same here! Nothing ! Never , ever, no holidays, no birthday! He don't like special occasions. But I love him so much and he's perfect otherwise! Does that make me seem weird that that bothers me ?

Gifts aren't the only way to feel special. Maybe it's a deeper issue why you don't feel loved.

If gifts make you happy, makes you sound materialistic. I'm not saying you are. It's just how it comes across.

Kinda sounds like YOUR love is conditional. Gifts have nothing to do with love or affection. Just because he doesn't buy u gifts or take u out doesn't mean ur unloved or unappreciated. Some guys never experienced what real love is or learned how a man should treat a woman by the wY their  dad treated their mothers. And u can't really fault him for no knowing. In the same token I'm really sorry but the way u posted this sounds extremely materialistic and conditional which meNs u don't know what love is either. Stop with the gifts, "money doesn't buy love" nor does it show it. U gotta express your feelings, when ur thinking of him text him snap him send a pic. If u must get a gift leave it at that and stop expecting gifts in return.

Honestly the post reminds me of when I was a child and my brother would scream and cry if he didn't get a "present" any time my mom went to the store.
