weird bleeding on and off??

alright y'all, I'm so confused. I've been spotting for the last 2 or 3 days but it's strange. I went to the bathroom the first day, and I saw some cherry red blood but it quickly changed to a really dark color. I wiped like twice and then the bleeding stopped completely. The next day, I wiped some dark red/brownish blood and after that the bleeding stopped completely for the day and now today, there was some dark red blood. I started the pill about 2 weeks ago. I'm about 6 days away from my break week. This has all been accompanied by some light cramping, although today the cramping was a little more intense. Could this be a period or my body's way of getting used to the pill? I'm confused!!
