8 days late? Implantation bleeding???

Question

Can someone please help me out here! I had sex for the first time 2 weeks ago and it was protected with a condom. I still haven't gotten my period and I am 8 days late. 
I took a test but it was negative but I'm worried I didn't wait long enough for the test to show results. I took in the morning in a rush.
Two days later, I got a brown discharge spotting. I read up on implantation bleeding. 
I'm gonna take a test again but am I just being paranoid? I really can't be pregnant.

You may just be super late! I am usually pretty regular, but there was a time where my stress level caused me to miss periods 3 months IN A ROW. I was freaking out the entire time and took a ridiculous number of pregnancy tests. All negative. Skipping periods are sometimes normal, from what I read online. Hope this eases your worries!

Many times periods start with brown discharge, its "old" blood coming first before the redder new blood. If it's that, it's totally normal. If you took the test the next morning it was probably too quick. If you're saying you took it today, 8 days later. It should be accurate. Should say on the box. Do you think this could be old blood?
