moving baby to her own room around 10 months -experiences?

Question

My baby is right now 6 months and I am thinking about when to move her to her own room. I was thinking to do it after the separation anxiety passes, but I also heard that the later you do it, the harder it is.

The SIDS recommendation is around 1 year

I would love to hear about others experience of moving babies to their own room around that age!

I was going to keep baby in my room until 1year, but my husband missed sleep so I moved her crib to her nursery at 8 months. She does better with sleep ever since the switch. I didn't do anything special and she didn't even notice.

I've just moved my son into his room at 8weeka & he's doing fab, no issue at all. Gets up three times for a feed during the night & tbh hasn't every noticed the difference :)

I moved my baby into his own room at 6 weeks and he didn't even notice a difference (and frankly he did not care that I moved him, lol). My son is 6 and a half months and he's good about sleeping wherever I lie him down 😊 (not for naps though, he only takes naps with me right next to him or holding him)

I have always been told that the recommendation is 6 months. I kept my daughter in our room until 10 months because at that point we moved into a bigger place and i also gave birth to my second baby that month.  I got her used to sleeping in her crib while she was in her room and then simply moved it into her own room when we moved. I havent figured out how to get her to fall asleep by herself yet. I have a guest bed in her room and after i get her ready for bed, i usually lay in the bed next to her crib until she falls asleep. Once shes out, she doesnt wake back up until the next morning.

My daughter was moved into her own room at 6 months. We had to sleep train and it was awful the first couple of weeks, but now she is ten months and loves sleeping in her own room. She sleeps longer for naps and doesn't wake up in the middle of the night. I was terrified of SIDS happening so I'd check on her every couple of hours (like a ninja mom. Literally had be so careful as to not wake her.). Eventually you become more comfortable as time goes in.

We moved our baby at 7 months and it was hard because she already understands that if she cries, we would come to her. Be prepared to sleep train though; they are smart little buggers and know exactly how to get what they want. My baby is 9 months now and since moving to her own room, we sleep trained so she sleeps through the night. And I haven't noticed any issues with separation anxiety. Good luck!
