Do you and your boyfriend have the same religious views?

My boyfriend and i have been together 4 years now, and our biggest source is contention is the fact that he's christian and i'm an atheist. usually, we're able to ignore this difference but lately we're talking about marriage, and i can sense that it's becoming a bigger issue for him moving forward.

can couples with very different religious views work?🙇🏻‍♀️

No- we don't have the same views. I'm Christian / spiritual person and he is a atheist. I don't need him to have the same views as me. When it comes to marriage- we can get married in a garden or somewhere in nature where I feel close to god. It will not be vows promising god. But I'm happy to give him a wedding without religion involved. However for you- maybe he is big on being married in a church. Look within yourself if you can give that to him. Also when it comes to an actual marriage - how will you raise kids etc .. it's hard because you might clash. I feel like you have to compromise and give somethings and holds ur beliefs other times. Just communicate! I think if you have a real love there- it can work out :)

My husband is LDS(Mormon) and I'm.... Not. I guess the closest to what I am is agnostic. My favourite religious movie quote I relate to is 'faith is a gift I have yet to receive'. Anywho, I am open and understanding of his religion. I let him teach me about it and I ask questions. He's also not really strict on his religion, as in he doesn't attend church regularly, he drinks alcohol very occasionally, he swears, he did not go on a mission, etc. I think that's the biggest reason that it works for us. I don't put down his faith and he doesn't push it on me. We also have similar morals and ways we want to raise our children in regards to religion. We both want the choice of faith to be made by our children. We want to encourage the exploration of different religions and let them decide what they believe. In short, yes, it can work if you let it and have an understanding with one another.

I feel like it works if there's compromise. Myfiancée family  is Muslim and I call myself spiritual only because I meditate and connect to God within. I don't really like to label myself but there have been some issues regarding me not wanting to say I am Muslim because I don't believe in the book, my fiancé is supportive of what I believe in and even understands it partially, mostly because you need to feel it to really know. He doesn't force me to say I am Muslim he tells me not to because I don't feel comfortable. He's not really religious at all he just believes in love and being kind to all beings, similar to me. But the family cultural difference can become an issue. Just for me that is
