Do you think it's unsanitary to have pets on the counter while cooking?

I wouldn't think this would be controversial but apparently it is... my sister in law is cooking right now and doesn't even care if her nasty cats are walking all over the counter 🤢 when her boyfriend and I said something she acted like we were being completely ridiculous and that it's not a big deal 🙄 I have a cat as well, and from the day we brought her home she was never allowed on tables or counters, the only furniture she's allowed on is the bed and couches. It wasn't that hard to teach her not to get on the counter....
